GooglePlex Midwest? Could it be?
Ever since oh about Thursday rumors have been flying about Google building something out here in the Mid America Industrial Park, near Pryor, OK (coincidentally about 15 minutes from my house!)
Of course nobody is confirming or denying it, but somebody (that someone being a mysterious shell LLC I can find no useful info on!) has bought up 800(!) acres out there. Like so... (Link to my map of this situation at google(!)) ... (wish I could embed it! What's up!?)
There is lots of speculation, but I suppose its perfectly plausible...
In any case, sign me up, Google. I'll wait until it becomes official, though. I'm still highly skeptical. There have been credible rumors of Anheuser-Busch building here as well. Guess we'll see!
So, Larry and Sergey, if you see this, remember you've got a highly capable Linux admin within "emergency distance" from there!
I've often thought if I won the lottery this would be a perfect place for a DC, although I was thinking more of the old ViaGrafx/Learn2 building which is still sitting vacant since the last bubble crash! (Doh! Glad I didn't take that job I am!)

- *FOUR* SONET trunks run right through here. Yeah and all I can get is a lousy 768k DSL or an unreliable 768k fixed wireless... Check this out: MAIP Telecom Utilities (PDF)
- *Two* power stations within rock-throwing distance, one of which they'd be living directly in the shadow of.
- The airport right next door is capable of supporting small bizjet-type traffic..
- There's a (albeit public) golf course just up the road on 69A if memory serves, quality unknown since I don't (and probably never will) golf.
- Lots of good home construction sites, and prime lakefront stuff on Hudson and further up on Grand (I have connections there! wink-wink nudge-nudge)

Links Links Links Enough!
I know thats what you're thinking, isn't it. "WTF is up with all these F-ing links already?!"
Yeah I know I should post more. Been too damn busy trying to launch a whole bunch of sites, finish a side project or two, and keep the LOST site , 3 cylinders, THX-1138.org, and GBF going strong.
(Hey RIPP, stop with the link whoring!!)
Sorry! Hey, even my last.fm sidebar plugin quit working correctly! Hooray for rusty blogs! Somethings gotta give, man!

Google Patents
Now we can see all the weird stuff my Grandpa's Cousin (or some similar relation) Royal Lee got patented...
Thanks Google! It returns 627 pages! Yikes! Don't know if those are all his or what! Stuff ranging from electric motor governors to food processing....

Bush Pardons Turkey, US Yawns
I'm waiting for a president to get up there and go, "Naw, I think this year we'll be having bird! Who's got stuffing! I call drumstick!" and then get one of the Secret Service boys to plug the bird right there.
Now that would be news.

The State of Linux Journalism
Sorry guys, but if this is the best we can do, then we will forever be relegated to the "dorky toy OS that nobody uses."
"How to choose the right screenshot program." Come on. That's just lame. On so many levels. Here's the short (my) version: Does it take a screenshot? Good. You're done. Thank you come again!
